Passion week and the Promises of God

Some recurring thoughts and Scripture that the Lord keeps bringing to mind over the past few months...

Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Thot: To die to self, even to the promises that I think the Lord gave... if only to gain Christ.

John 12:24 I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Thot: Live/Die in such a way that others might find life.

No Reserves, No Retreats, No Regrets - William Borden of Yale
Thot: I was inspired by this man and took what he wrote as my own in 1988 when I left my job to go into full-time Christian service. This statement continues to inspire and motivate me.

Romans 4:17 ...(Abraham) believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. (NASB)
On April 2, God resurrected an old promise that I had claimed from Him 12 years ago. I thought He had forgotten... Something that had died came back to life. Something that didn't exist came into existence out of nowhere. As my friend says, "Our God is a too good to be true God." I say "Amen" to that!

Daddy's little girl again

Dad's face lit up when he saw me peeping into his room. This Sunday, like every other Sunday, I took him to our family home for the day. It doesn't take too much to make him happy. Perhaps I need this time with him as much as (and maybe more than) he needs the time me.

We sat side-by-side on the two-seater sofa listening to his music again. He put his arm around me and let me rest on his arm. I can't remember the last time he did that :-) I was his little girl again. It felt nice.
